My Story
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

My career began with a hammer and a UBC Journeyman Carpenter card. I spent my early years learning the industry from the inside out—understanding the grit and the precision of what it takes to build. What began as a trade became a lifelong mission to master the built environment, taking me from local jobsites to the extreme conditions of McMurdo Station, Antarctica.

That foundational experience drove me to look deeper into the "how" and "why" of our industry. I pursued advanced degrees at Stanford and Yale because I saw a gap between technical design and real-world resilience. Whether I am managing a $1.2B grant for a major medical center or a high-rise building rehabilitation, I focus on the "interfaces"—the critical spaces where trades, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder interests meet.

Today, as President of Dedicated Consulting Group, I lead with a philosophy of Intelligence Augmentation. We combine the precision of a craftsman with the strategic foresight of an engineer. We don't just manage projects; we solve the interface challenges that prevent them from moving forward. Our goal is to ensure the right information is available at the right time, so work is done right the first time—for the owners, the stakeholders, and the future of our communities.

Kind regards,

Brooke Barrett
